Meet Our New Student-Doctors

We are very excited to announce that we have new interns in the office. The technical term for them is "Student-Doctor" and you all know how we like to be technical. They have been patients with us for years, but now they are transferring over to our office family and we are beyond thrilled to have them. Here's some background on the latest members of the MF Wellness family!

Amanda Glon

Tell us a little bit about your background:
I grew up in St. Charles and attended Francis Howell High School. I played competitive volleyball which led me to The University of Tennessee at Martin where I received my Bachelor's in Exercise Science. I am currently a trimester 9 student at Logan University and am set to graduate in December.

What attracted you to chiropractic?
My favorite thing about chiropractors is that they listen. The patient gets to explain their complaint and get to the root cause of the problem instead of just handed a pill to mask their pain. Growing up playing volleyball I battled an injury that made me really appreciate how much chiropractic had to offer. Through the adjustments and the rehab I never had to worry about missing another match. While in school I have been drawn to the pregnancy and pediatric patients.

Describe yourself in 5 words:
Determined, Competitive, Confident, Intelligent, Caring

What do you hope to accomplish in this internship?
While at Midwest Family Wellness, I hope to continue expanding my clinical knowledge. The part I am most looking forward to is interacting with the patients and becoming more comfortable with explaining the procedure to them in a way that they will understand what we're doing. The doctors here are fantastic at teaching and getting the opportunity to listen to them is a learning opportunity in itself.

Anything else we should know about you?
I'm getting married to my best friend in September! Any wedding advice is welcome, as I have been slacking on the wedding planning. My Fiance and I both enjoy going to the farm on the weekends to fish and enjoy the country life. Outside of school and studying, I love to explore the city and find new trails to walk.
